Agira Municipal Library

The Pietro Mineo Municipal Library of Agira was established in 1799 by the Provost Pietro Mineo, who left for the library a conspicuous collection in number and quality of volumes.
Since 1977 the library has been open to the public based in the premises of the Tourist Motel Regional site in via Circonvallazione.
Among the volumes kept in the library of particular value are the beautiful codices preserved here. Two codices are particularly noteworthy: Psalterio of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Latin and French codex from the early 15th century with Franco-Flemish miniatures; a Neapolitan miniature from the mid-15th century.
