Maimone Fountain in Agira

The Fountain of Maimone di Agira, located in Piazza Fedele in the Urselluzzo district, is a place linked to the life of San Filippo D'Agira.
According to popular tradition, the fountain was the site of another challenge between San Filippo and the devil: in a cave adjacent to the fountain lived the demon Maimon whom the saint managed to defeat and chain inside the fountain.
The fountain has a circular shape and, on a column, there is the statue of Maiomone.
