The Church of SS. Annunziata in Aidone is a small place of worship that represents what remains of the ancient complex of the Church of Maria Santissima Annunziata.
The complex formed by the Oratory of the Confraternity of Santissima Annunziata and the church of Maria Santissima Annunziata was founded in 1618. After the Second World War, the church of Maria Santissima Annunziata was demolished and only the ancient facade with the eighteenth-century portal remained. In the 1970s, the oratory was rebuilt, which took the title of church of Santissima Annunziata.
The current church is adjacent to the western side of the ancient church, of which only the portal in local red sandstone remains. It has a rectangular facade, in local stone, with a single central entrance framed by blocks of squared sandstone with a round arch. Above this, in line, there is a rectangular window, framed by bricks and a segmental arch. The façade is characterised by an imposing bell tower open on the front with a round arch, which rises at the right corner of the crown.
The interior, with a single nave, has no decorative elements.
