Castel di Iudica is a small village located on the slopes of Mount Iudica.
Its territory has been inhabited since ancient times, as demonstrated by the numerous archaeological remains. It is an open-air museum that narrates the origins of the first inhabitants of Sicily.
Under Arab rule, it was called Zotica and a castle was built there, conquered in 1076 by Ruggero. At the beginning of the 12th century, Castel di Iudica became a thriving agricultural village, a feature it still retains today.
