Calvary Church in Centuripe
The Church of Calvario in Centuripe stands on a hill and dominates the surrounding landscape.
Built in 1927 by the interest of Father Vincenzo Sfilio with the material help of all the citizens, it represents one of the most iconic images of Centuripe.
The church has a hexagonal plan surmounted by a green dome. Inside it houses only a small altar with a painting depicting the Addolorata and a statue of the S.S. Crucifix.
Every year, on May 3, the church is open to the faithful on the occasion of the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
