Church of the SS Crocifisso in Centuripe
The Church of S.S. Crucifix in Centuripe, located at the entrance to the town, stands on an interesting archaeological area of the imperial age that can still be partially visited on the left side.
The Church has a simple plastered gabled façade and an elegant bell tower surmounted by a cusp covered with majolica. Adjacent to the church is an interesting stone staircase, decorated with ceramic panels representing the fourteen stations of the Via Crucis.
The interior, with a single nave, houses the "tambuletto", a precious gilded wooden case and in glass that houses the statue of the dead Jesus, visible once a year on the occasion of the Good Friday procession.
