Piazza Castello in Delia
Piazza Castello in Delia takes on great historical value because it is the place where the town was formed.
Piazza Castello is in fact the place where the ancient statio Petiliana was built, named after the Roman nobleman Petilio, owner of the fiefdom , around which the current town developed.
The current appearance of the square does not respect its original plan due to the subsequent construction of civilian homes, but it is still possible to see some elements of the Statio Petiliana: the wall placed between Vicolo Castello and Via Municipio; the external cornices and the corner pilasters of medieval origin that delimited the castle.
