Mugnos Palace in Licodia Eubea
The Mugnos Palace, located in the street of the same name in front of the Mother Church, is one of the most important civil buildings in Licodia Eubea.
The palace takes its name from the Mugnos family, close collaborators of the Santapau.
There are no sources that certify the date of construction with certainty, but the plant is generally traced back to the 17th - 18th century, with important consolidation interventions that took place following the earthquake of 1693.
The building is characterized by a large internal courtyard and from a late Sicilian Baroque style façade. In fact, the typical Sicilian Baroque masks and the Vassallo coat of arms on the central portal decorate the façade. The main façade is composed of a major entrance leading to the internal courtyard and two minor entrances. The three entrances are surmounted by three balconies placed in a symmetrical way.
Today the part of the building facing via Mugnos belongs to the municipality of Licodia Eubea.
