Church of the SS. Crucifix of the Olmo in Mazzarino
The Church of the SS. Crocifisso dell'Olmo a Mazzarino is one of the oldest religious buildings in the village.
It was built in the 5th century of the Christian era; around the 10th-11th century it was restored by the Normans and dedicated to the Madonna dell'Itria. At that time the church had pointed arches and ceilings with gilded and stained beams; it was then destroyed following the earthquake of 1693 and rebuilt by the Marquis Filippo Bivona.
