Baldanza Palace in Militello Val di Catania
Palazzo Baldanza in Militello Val Di Catania, located at the corner between Via Senatore Maiorana and Via Umberto I with one of the elevations visible from Piazza Municipio, represents one of the greatest examples of Baroque civil architecture in the city.
Built at the beginning of the 17th century , is punctuated by a sequence of balconies decorated with rich Baroque carvings and pilasters with a high stone base and consists of two elevations above ground with a mezzanine floor placed between the ground floor and the main floor. The corbels with masks and bas-reliefs, the window frames decorated with scrolls, the cameos and moldings, the railing with wrought iron rods are of notable effect. The portal is limited by two pilasters with a base surmounted by an entablature with triglyphs connected by a frame to the overhanging tribune.
The building is now the seat of the Pro Loco Tourist Association.
