Farmer's Museum in Piazza Armerina
The Casa Museo del Contadino in Piazza Armerina is one of the main museums of the city.
In the museum rooms the historic home of a Sicilian farmer has been recreated. there are many historical relics, work tools and everyday objects. The first room reproduces a suggestive cellar with all the work tools, from those used for plowing the fields to those for hunting, including small traps for birds. The second room is the old farmer's kitchen, where there is a stone oven, the millstone used to grind the cereals to obtain the flour for baking and the tools for washing clothes and dishes. The last room is the bedroom, with the traditional double bed in straw and the typical hammock placed above it, in which babies were cradled.
