Tower of Albospino in Ramacca
The Albospino Tower in Ramacca is a feudal tower, built on an outcrop of calcarenitic rock, dating back to the 15th-17th century. The tower is now in ruins.
The building has an irregular polygonal plan. It was built with unhewn local stone bound together with abundant mortar.
Over the centuries, the structure has undergone various alterations: it is assumed that the original structure was composed of a ground floor and a first floor and that, only in a later period, a second elevation was added.
On the ground floor there are small square windows supported by architraves and jambs in white stone which are believed to have originally had a defensive function. On the first floor there are instead large rectangular windows, for residential use. The second floor has almost completely collapsed.
The interior has been totally destroyed following several collapses.
