Silver Museum in Regalbuto
The Museo degli Argenti of the Chiesa Madre San Basilio exhibits an artistic heritage of a certain importance, expression of the long season of the Modern age, in the climate of the Catholic Counter-Reformation, of the time that goes from the sixteenth century up to its particular happy season which was the The eighteenth century with the Baroque.
In the museum there are two large exhibition areas: the first includes works from the 16th and 17th centuries, a period that follows the arrival of the relics of San Vito in Regalbuto in 1541 which determined cultural and artistic implications evidence of which is still preserved today in monuments and sacred objects; the second is placed at the end of this period, following the earthquake of 1693.
