Ganzaria Museum in San Michele di Ganzaria
The Ganzaria Museum exhibits objects of archaeological, ethnological and anthropological interest in the territory of San Michele di Ganzaria. Of particular interest are the finds dating back to the late ancient, Byzantine and Arab-Norman periods.
The Museum is housed in a building dating back to the 19th century, originally the private home of the Notary Traversa.
The museum itinerary is divided in various rooms: the Presentation Room where six blow-ups illustrating the museum itinerary are displayed as well as various objects of ethno-anthropological interest; the Hall of Ancient Crafts where various tools related to peasant life are kept; the Hall of the Foundation through two historical dresses of Greek-Albanian type and illustrative panels narrate the foundation of the village; the Ganzaria Mountain Room displays flora, fauna and fossils from the nearby Ganzaria mountain; the Archaeological Finds Room where remains from eleven different archaeological sites are kept, from the prehistoric to the Arab-Norman age; the Cartographic Room where there are various cartographic reproductions of the village and all of Sicily; the Nicastro Hall
