Church of San Liborio in Valguarnera
The Church of San Liborio is a small place of worship located in the heart of the historic center, next to Palazzo Prato, home of one of the richest and most illustrious families of Valguarnera.
The date of construction of the church is not known but, from some notarial deeds, it is clear that it existed before 1691. It was built by the Prato family as a chapel annexed to the adjacent palace.
The simple façade ends with a slight gabled shape in the central part accentuated by a narrow frame. At the top left stands a small bell tower with a cusped profile. In the center opens the squared limestone portal on which rests an opening with a lowered arch.
The interior, with a single nave, is divided by an arch into two bays.
