Morello lake in Villarosa
Lake Morello in Villarosa is an artificial lake born from the damming of the Morello river in the seventies.
The lake was created for industrial purposes to support the activity of the Pasquasia mine.
The construction of the lake it has erased the traces of the Sikelia mining railway which largely existed in the area of the reservoir.
Today its waters are used for irrigation.
The lake is slowly naturalizing and it is possible to observe various types of passing birds.
In the south-west part of the lake there are platforms for the practice of sport fishing.
