Summer festival of San Corrado in Noto
The summer festival of San Corrado Confalonieri is celebrated in Noto on the last Sunday of August. It is the main festival that is dedicated to the Patron Saint but there is a second festival, winter, which is celebrated on February 19.
The summer festival includes the procession of the Ark and the Fair of San Corrado.
The most evocative moment of the festival is represented by the procession of the silver urn containing the remains of the Saint which is carried through the main streets of the baroque town accompanied by the characteristic bearers of "cilii", large decorative candles supported by wooden stems in which some episodes from the life story of the Saint.
