Aeolian Carnival in Lipari
The Aeolian Carnival takes place on the island of Lipari and includes the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups along the main streets of the island.
It is a historical Carnival: the tradition of parading wearing costumes and masks dates back to the Seventies and today it has become a traditional event that also attracts numerous tourists.
The event includes the parade of masked groups and allegorical floats, the exhibition of all the participating floats and the competition with final prize giving ceremony at the Porto Sottomonastaro of the float more beautiful.
