Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse
The celebrations begin at dawn on 29 November when, according to a ancient tradition, the “Unveiling” of the simulacrum of the Most Holy Mary takes place. The ceremony of the "unveiled" is preceded by the "Notturna", which consists in the tour of the musical band through the streets of Ortigia, starting from three in the morning until just before five, which the inhabitants announcing the start of the party. The Holy Celebration follows during which the white veil that covers the statue of the Virgin placed on the main altar begins to flow, showing the statue of the Virgin in all its splendor.
In the following days the novenary takes place and the celebrations culminate December 8, the day of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with the evocative procession through the streets of Ortigia which during the Fercolo della Madonna is then carried to the shoulders by the members of the "Confraternity of the Immaculate".

17:30 Triumphal exit of the simulacrum of the Blessed Virgin Mary Immaculate from the church of San Filippo Apostolo and procession.
The music during the procession will be performed by the municipal band "City of Syracuse".
