Effems - CC3.0
The Feast of San Bartolomeo in Lipari takes place every year on August 24th in Marina Corta.
It is the patronal feast, the most important of the entire archipelago in which all the islanders take part.
On the occasion a busy religious program takes place during the festival which culminates with the evocative procession of the simulacrum of San Bartolomeo and the "vascelluzzo", a silver reliquary of excellent workmanship, both carried on the shoulders of the various brotherhoods.< br>During the holidays, musical and entertainment shows are also organised.
The party ends with spectacular fireworks over the sea.
