The Feast of the Madonna del Carmelo in Santa Teresa di Riva is celebrated on July 16, the day of the liturgical anniversary, but the celebrations cover the entire month of July.
The feast includes a rich religious program which culminates on the day of the feast with the solemn procession of the simulacrum of the Madonna del Carmelo, wearing a garment on which the many gold donations of the faithful are sewn, which is carried on the shoulders by the devotees and accompanied by the Carmelites, many of whom complete the entire procession in bare feet.
