Festa Madonna della Catena a Castiglione
The Feast of Maria Santissima Madonna della Catena in Castiglione di Sicilia takes place on the first Sunday of May and in the month of August.
The May feast, one of the most heartfelt in the whole Valle dell'Alcantara, consists of various celebrations that take place in the first days of May, and which culminate on the day of the feast with the solemn procession of the simulacrum, attributed to the school of Gagini, which is kept in the Basilica of the Madonna throughout the year della Catena.
In the month of August the summer festival takes place during which the Simulacrum and the Relics of the Patron Saint will be carried in procession through the streets of the town.
