Feast of Our Lady of the Medal in Vittoria
The feast of the Madonna della Medaglia a Vittoria is celebrated every year by the parish community of the Church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory, in the popular Celle district of Vittoria.
The image of the Virgin, kept in the Church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory, recalls the apparition of Mary Most Holy to Saint Catherine Labourè in 1830, in Paris. On that occasion, Our Lady expressed the wish that a medal be minted with her image on one side and the "M" with the cross with twelve stars on the other.
On the occasion of the feast, a rich liturgical program takes place which it culminates with the solemn procession of the simulacrum of Maria Santissima della Medaglia.
During the celebrations there will be moments of entertainment with music, shows and moments of tasting with the traditional Salsiccia Festival.
