The Feast of the Madonna della Neve in Santa Lucia del Mela is celebrated every year on August 5th. It is a very ancient celebration linked to the cult of the Madonna kept in a small country church which was located in the Cella district.
Every year, on the occasion of the feast day, the precious simulacrum of the Madonna della Neve, a copy of the an original work by Gagini from 1529, it is placed on the artistic vara and carried in procession through the streets of the village. The simulacrum will return to the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve, built on the ruins of the castle, the following week.
During the festivities, musical and entertainment shows are organized and, traditionally, the Palio of the Madonna della Neve takes place
