Feast of Mary SS. Sorrowful in Grammichele
The celebration in honor of Maria SS. Addolorata in Grammichele traditionally takes place on the last Sunday of September and includes a program full of faith events, surrounded by numerous artistic events.
The culminating moment of the festival is the solemn Nisciuta (exit) of the simulacrum of Holy Mary. Addolorata, the spectacular throwing of colored paper, the shooting of fireworks, the maschiata, i.e. the fireworks display, and the procession through the city streets.
During the celebrations, musical evenings are organized and entertainment shows.
