Feast of San Biagio in Caronia
The Feast of San Biagio in Caronia, the patron saint of the village, takes place on February 3rd, the day of the liturgical anniversary, and on the second Sunday of August, when the external feast takes place.
The feast of February 3rd includes an intense program of religious celebrations which culminate with the solemn procession of the Simulacrum of the Patron Saint of Caronia through the streets of the village. Furthermore, the blessing of the faithful takes place with the reliquary arm, the blessing of the bread and the blessing of the throats of the faithful, as San Biago is the Holy Protector of the Throat.
On the occasion of the >summer festival of San Biagio in Caronia a large number of faithful take part, including the many emigrants who return to their native town for the occasion. During the celebrations, the procession of the Simulacrum of the Patron Saint carried on the shoulders of the faithful in the artistic launch takes place. A rich program of collateral events is also organised.
