Feast of San Biagio in Militello Rosmarino
The Feast of San Biagio in Militello Rosmarino, Patron Saint and Protector of the village, takes place on February 3rd and in the month of August when the festival takes place.
The winter celebrations begin on January 27th, the day on which the procession of the painting of San Biagio takes place, as well as the blessing and tasting of the bread. In the afternoon of the same day, the Sciara cara rama e i Cannizzoli takes place, i.e. a procession where the faithful carry lit torches, the cannizzoli, and a small laurel tree, the rama, where a silver bas-relief of the Saint hangs. At the end of the procession, a large bonfire is lit and the bread of San Biagio is blessed.
On 1 February the Candlemas Festival takes place with the blessing of the candles and the procession of the ancient painting of the Madonna Immaculate.
The solemn celebrations in honor of San Biagio take place on February 3rd. Among the most important moments: the blessing of the throat, the procession of the ancient simulacrum of the Saint on the artistic baroque vara, the traditional race of the Saint, carried on the shoulders of men and barefoot women, along the climb of via Cesare Battisti, the blessing of colored ribbons.
In the month of August the summer festival takes place in honor of the Patron Saint during which various collateral events are also organised.

10:00 Procession of the ancient and venerated simulacrum of the Immaculate Conception to the Church of Santa Maria Brignolito with the blessing of candles and the Holy Mass.
15:00 Suggestive translation of the highly venerated simulacrum of San Biagio from his chapel to the High Altar.
17:00 “Laudi” at San Biagio and followed by Solemn Vespers and Holy Mass in the Mother Church.
18:15 “Sciara Ca Rama” and the “Cannizzoli” through the streets of the town.
19:30 “U Sunettu”: blessing of the bread at the house of San Biagio and a moment of conviviality, tasting and celebration.

09:30 Preparation and exit of the majestic VARA DI SAN Biagio by the devout bearers.
11:30 Solemn Holy Mass.
12:30 Procession of the ancient and venerated Simulacrum of San Biagio with the two traditional "Corse", the kiss of the children in Piazza Lodato and the centuries-old "SALVA" fireworks in honor of the Saint.
19:00 Holy Mass of thanksgiving in the Mother Church, kiss of the Relic and subsequent repositioning of Saint Blaise in his Chapel.
