Festa di San Domenico ad Augusta
The Feast of the Patron Saint of Augusta, San Domenico di Guzmán, is celebrated every year on May 24, the day on which the expulsion of the Turks is commemorated through the saint's intercession in 1594.
The main moments of the celebrations are : the shots of the cannons and the ringing of the festive bells that awaken the city from sleep, the visit of the Reliquary in the suburban areas, the Historical Procession, the solemn procession of the simulacrum of the saint covered with the gold votive offerings received over the centuries.
On the occasion of the celebrations for the Patron Saint, numerous events are organized such as concerts and entertainment shows.

19:00 Holy Mass celebrated by the Rev. Sac. Alfio Scapellato.
At the end “preserved” of the Simulacrum of San Domenico in his chapel.
The songs of the celebration will be curated by the Missionaries of the Gospel Group.
