Feast of San Gerlando in Agrigento
On 25 February each year, Agrigento celebrates San Gerlando, patron saint of the city with an evocative procession of relics and the participation of the Confraternities of the Archdiocese.
San Gerlando had the great merit of succeeding in the re-evangelization of an area of Agrigento which, after two centuries of Arab domination, has now become completely Muslim.
