Feast of San Giovanni in Granieri - Caltagirone

The Feast of San Giovanni in Granieri traditionally takes place in the month of August with the long-awaited procession of the Simulacrum and the traditional procession of the Civic Senate.
Granieri, a small agricultural village of great charm located in the Caltagirone area, known for the production of excellent quality table grapes, every year it dedicates a great festival in honor of the Patron Saint. Many devotees and visitors who, on this occasion, come to the village to follow the traditional procession which has remained unchanged over time since the 1950s. The packed program of religious appointments culminates on the feast day with the procession of the simulacrum of the Saint through the streets of the hamlet with the participation of the civil and military authorities, with the traditional historical procession of the Civic Senate and with the traditional Affacciata em>, i.e. the blessing of children who wear the classic red shirt.
Alongside the religious events, numerous folkloristic, musical and entertainment events are organised.
