Feast of San Giuseppe in Aidone

In Aidone, the celebrations in honor of San Giuseppe take place on 19 March. The Holy Patriarch in popular tradition protects the poor above all, and it is for this reason that in the past in Aidone, and in many other countries of Sicily, there was the custom of preparing sacred lunch in private homes and offering it to the needy and orphans.
Today, the proloco association of Aidone, with the contribution and collaboration of a large part of the population, organizes a large table of San Giuseppe in the premises of its headquarters to remember this ancient tradition and on March 19, at noon precisely tasting. The celebrations for the feast of San Giuseppe di Aidone culminate in the afternoon with the solemn procession in honor of the Holy Patriarch.

Procession, along the usual itinerary: at the Castellaccio blessing of the city of Aidone and the fields;
on the way back in c.da Canalotto fireworks;
