Feast of San Giuseppe in Pietraperzia

The Feast of St. Joseph in Pietraperzia takes place in the month of March, on the occasion of the liturgical anniversary of March 19, and includes the traditional representation of the evangelical episode of the flight of the Holy Family into Egypt.
This tradition has its roots its roots in the second half of the 18th century, the period in which Giuseppe Nicolò Baldassarre Russo put into verse the evangelical episode of the Flight into Egypt. Today, on the occasion of the anniversary, the Sacred Representation takes place which sees the members of the Holy Family as protagonists, with the Madonna on the back of the donkey, the Angel and Herod's soldiers and which ends with the traditional table of Saint Joseph.< br>The celebrations end with the solemn procession of the Simulacrum of San Giuseppe through the streets of the village.
