Feast of San Michele in Acireale

The Feast of San Michele Arcangelo in Acireale, co-patron saint of the city, takes place in the month of September and includes a rich liturgical and recreational programme.
The celebrations in honor of San Michele Arcangelo begin with the traditional unveiling of the Simulacrum of the Saint who is exposed to the veneration of the faithful.
The culminating moment of the festival is the solemn exit of the Simulacrum of the Saint from the Church of San Michele and the procession through the streets of the neighborhood.
The celebrations are accompanied by recreational events like the traditional Sausage festival.
