Feast of San Michele Arcangelo in Cerami
The Feast of St. Michael the Archangel in Cerami takes place in the month of May and on 29 September, the day of the liturgical anniversary.
The Feast of St. Michael the Archangel is very ancient and the devotion for the Saint dates back to the famous Battle of Cerami where, according to tradition, thanks to the intercession of San Giorgio and San Michele, the Normans led by Count Roger managed to expel the Saracens from Sicily.
In the month of May the celebrations culminate with the solemn procession of artistic simulacrum of the Saint through the streets of the village preceded by the Confraternity of San Michele Arcangelo with its traditional clothes.
On 29 September, on the occasion of the liturgical anniversary, the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration takes place with the participation of the Confraternity.
