Feast of San Pietro in Calascibetta

The Feast of the Patron Saint San Pietro a Calascibetta is celebrated on the first Sunday in August and on the following Monday.
The celebrations are preceded by a week of preparation, known as Petrine week, during which takes place a busy religious program.
The festivities culminate on the Monday when the simulacrum of St. Peter the Apostle, placed in an artistic vara, is carried in procession through the streets of the historic centre.
