Feast of San Rocco in Linguaglossa

The feast of San Rocco in Linguaglossa takes place every year on August 16th and celebrates San Rocco di Montepellier, patron saint of the town.
On the occasion of the celebrations in honor of San Rocco there is a busy liturgical calendar which culminates, in the evening of the feast day, with the solemn procession of the simulacrum of the Patron Saint through the streets of the Etna village.
During the celebrations there are various recreational moments such as games of the Sicilian popular tradition, the summer tombolone and the traditional Auction of San Rocco, the oldest auction of typical Sicilian products which traditionally takes place on the Sunday following August 16th.
