Feast of St. Anthony from Padova in Comiso
The Feast of Sant'Antonio di Padova in Comiso is a deeply felt religious festival that is shared by the entire population. Every year in the days preceding the liturgical feast, on 13 June, the deeply felt devotion to this saint is renewed with a busy religious program which culminates, on the day of the feast, with the solemn Pontifical Mass.
The day established for the < strong>external party, traditionally celebrated on the Sunday following the liturgical solemnity, the festive exit of the venerated simulacrum of St. Anthony of Padua takes place, greeted by the sound of the bells, the choreography of colored flyers and the traditional symphonic hymn of the parish. This is followed by the procession of the simulacrum of the Saint through the streets of the town which ends in the churchyard of the Church of Sant'Antonio di Padova with a show of music, lights and scenographic effects. The festival closes with the symbolic moment, in memory of the charity of Sant'Antonio, of the blessing and distribution of the bread.

08:30 The ringing of the bells will announce the day of celebration.
Holy Rosary and thirteen to Sant'Antonio.
09:00 Holy Mass.
10:00 Folklore parade of Sicilian carts, artistically decorated which, accompanied by the "Kasmeneo" Band, will travel through the streets of the parish, for the traditional collection of bread offered in honor of Saint Anthony.
12:00 Short entertainment by the “Kasmeneo” Band in the churchyard.
17:30 Holy Rosary meditated and thirteen hours to Saint Anthony.
18:00 The “Kasmeneo” Band will play in some streets of the neighborhood.
18:30 Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Most Rev. Sac. Don Biagio Aprile, animated by the parish choir accompanied on the organ by maestro Antonio Musso.
The following will be present: the Civil and Military Authorities. At the end of the celebration, a festive exit of the venerated simulacrum of Saint Anthony of Padua, greeted by the ringing of bells and the choreography of colorful flyers.
