Feast of Santa Lucia in Carlentini

the Festa di Santa Lucia in Carlentini takes place on the fourth Sunday of August and is the most important religious festival for the town. In fact, Saint Lucia has been the Patron Saint of Carlentini since 1621.
On the eve of the feast, the traditional homage to the Relic takes place with Holy Mass and a procession of the silver forearm reliquary which houses a bone fragment of Santa Lucia.
On the festive Sunday, in the morning, the procession takes place through the streets of the neighborhoods.
The following Monday, the Solemn Pontifical takes place and the Solemn evening procession of the Simulacrum of the Patron Saint.

On the occasion of the liturgical celebration of the Feast of Saint Lucia, on December 13, the Solemn Mass and a short procession of the Simulacrum of the Saint are held in Carlentini.
