Feast of Santa Margherita in Agira
The Feast of Santa Margherita Virgin and Martyr of Agira is celebrated every year on July 20, the day in which her martyrdom is remembered. The festivities include a rich religious program which culminates with the procession of the relics and the simulacrum of the Virgin, which depicts her with a defeated dragon at her feet in memory of an ancient legend. The procession winds through the main streets of the historic center accompanied by the sound of the musical band.
