Feast of Santa Venera in Avola

The celebrations for the patron saint of Avola take place on the last Sunday of July. On the occasion of the festival the city is awakened by the traditional pyrotechnic diana, by the sound of the bells and by the sound of the bands. In the evening the triumphal exit of the fercolo takes place and the solemn procession through the city streets which ends the entrance of the fercolo into the church in Piazza Teatro.
Entertainment and musical performances take place on Mondays. The celebrations end with an impressive fireworks display.
