Feast of Saints Alfio Filadelfo and Cirino in Lentini
Feast of the Holy Martyr Brothers Alfio, Filadelfo and Cirino in Lentini takes place in the month of May and is the patronal feast of the city.
According to tradition the three brothers were martyred in Lentini on 10 May 253.
On the occasion of the festival, the traditional holy tour takes place, during which the Nuri, barefoot and semi-naked faithful with a red band around their body and in their hands a bouquet of flowers or carrying a candle on my shoulder, I go around the Mother Church raising praises to the Holy Martyr Brothers.
The celebrations end, on the day of the triumph, with the solemn exit of the fercolo of Sant'Alfio followed by the traditional procession through the streets of the city.
