Feast of the SS. Crucifix in Castelbuono
The festival in honor of the SS. Crucifix in Castelbuono is celebrated in the month of September and takes place in the parish of Sant'Antonino Martire which houses the valuable 17th century Crucifix sculpted by Friar Umile Pitorna.
The rich religious program culminates, on the day of the celebration, with the Solemn Procession through the streets of the town with a prayer stop in the main squares, followed by the Holy Mass in the presence of the civil, military and religious authorities.
During the celebrations, a rich recreational program also takes place with concerts, musical shows and entertainment.

07:30 Holy Mass.
08:30 Holy Mass.
10:00 Holy Mass with the participation of the sisters of the SS. Crucifix.
11:30 Holy Mass.
17:30 Holy Mass with the children who have received their First Communion and with their families; with the Catholic Action group and the children of the ACR, with the Bearers of the Crucifix.
17:45 Music Band.
18:30 Descent of the SS. Crucifix.
19:00 Solemn Procession in the main squares
Pause for prayer and contemplation: We are healed by his wounds.
On the return of the Procession Prayer over the city of Castelbuono.
20:30 Reposition of the SS. Crucified in his shrine.
Following Holy Mass presided over by Don Giuseppe Licciardi Vicar General of the Diocese of Cefalù, with the presence of the Civil and Military Authorities.
