Aragonese festivals in Montalbano Elicona
In the month of August, in the ancient village of Montalbano Elicona, a historical-cultural event among the most spectacular in Sicily takes place: the Aragonese Feasts . On the occasion of the event, the streets and squares of the village are enriched by scenes of courtly, chivalrous and everyday life, with the reconstruction of the shops of medieval crafts. The favorite relationship between the King of Sicily, Frederick II of Aragon and the city where he spent his summers and in which he built his "Regia Aedes" on the pre-existing Norman-Swabian castle is recalled. During the event there are various animation and entertainment shows.
