The infiorata of Santo Stefano Medio is organized every year, in spring, on the occasion of the feast of the Madonna dei Giardini.
Santo Stefano Medio, also called Santo Stefano Mezzano, is a small village in the municipality of Messina, located in a green valley at the foot of the Peloritani mountains.
The carpet of flowers, with a religious theme, is set up in the narrow streets of the small village and, on the occasion of this event, on the balconies of the houses , as per ancient tradition, splendid hand-embroidered blankets are hung.
On the festive Sunday, the evocative procession of the painting of S. Maria dei Giardini takes place through the streets of the village.
On the occasion of the flower also tastings of typical local products such as pidoni, arancini, arrosticini with bruschetta, and musical and entertainment shows.
