Easter in Lipari
On the island of Lipari, the rites of Holy Week and Easter are prepared with great participation and spirituality.
During Holy Week the traditional rites of the blessing of the sacred oils, of the washing of the feet and of the Procession of the Mysteries are held. the whole inhabited center and is accompanied by the Band City of Lipari.
The night of Easter Eve the resurrection of Christ is celebrated in the Cathedral Basilica. On Easter day the celebrations end in Marina Corta with the procession of the meeting between the processions of the Risen Christ and the Addolorata. The procession of the meeting culminates with fireworks and the festive sound of bells.
