Easter in Sortino
Holy Week in Sortino includes a program full of rites, liturgies and religious celebrations.
The celebrations begin on Palm Sunday with the traditional blessing of the palms and procession.
Particularly evocative is the procession of Nummi ru Gesù, The name of Jesus, i.e. the procession of Christ to the Column which takes place on the night of Holy Thursday.
On the day of Good Friday the procession known as Scisa 'a Cruci takes place, while on Easter Sunday the celebrations end with the evening procession of U Sarvaturi, The Savior.
