Living Nativity in Caltanissetta

The Living Nativity Bethlehem to the Angels of Caltanissetta takes place in the charming and ancient Arab quarter of the Angeli district. It sees the participation of over one hundred and fifty costumed figures, all residing in the neighborhood.
Among the narrow streets of the Arab quarter and inside the houses of the same, the representations of the ancient trades already present in Palestine at the time of Jesus are revived, with the possibility for visitors to taste the traditional food specialties of Caltanissetta. There are three arts and crafts represented in cicerara, that is the seller of chickpeas, u ricuttaro, that is the cheese maker of ricotta and cheeses, the lavannara, that is the washerwoman and many others.
