Historical re-enactment in Biancavilla

The Arbereshe Historical Reenactment in Biancavilla traditionally takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October, during the celebrations in honor of the Patron Saints, and celebrates the Albanian origins of this community.
On the occasion of the historical re-enactment, a long procession of figures in traditional costume takes place, which winds its way from the Villa delle Favare until reaching the churchyard of the Basilica of Biancavilla where the representation of the arrival of the Albanian refugees in these lands takes place with the placing of the icon of the Madonna dell'Alemosina on the fig tree, in memory of the miracle that prevented the exiles to resume their journey and settle down in these lands.
