Honey festival in Sortino

The honey festival in Sortino takes place every year in September and celebrates an excellence of this village: Hyblean honey.
Hyblean honey is one of the best known and most celebrated honeys in the world: it was described and mentioned by many writers since the Greek and Roman times. Today Hyblean honey is recognized as a P.A.T. of the Sicily region.
During the festival, stands are set up where it is possible to taste honey and sweets and numerous honey-based preparations: piretti biscuits, sanfurricchi candies , sphinxes, liqueurs and much more.
The festive evenings will be enriched by musical, folkloric and entertainment shows.
