The Calatabiano Medlar Festival celebrates medlars, a fruit whose production in the area reaches 800 tons a year.
On the occasion of the gastronomic event, numerous stands are set up where it is possible to taste this sweet fruit and the many products prepared with it: preserves, jams, liqueurs, ice cream...
Stands are also set up for tasting other local products and craft stands.
The festival is organized within the celebrations for St. Philip the Syriac.

- Opening of Stands in Piazza San Filippo, Medlar Festival of Calatabiano and free tasting of typical products derived from the local Medlar.
- Artistic competition in extemporaneous painting on canvas entitled “Extemporaneous Painting” with the participation of Sicilian artists and painters.
10:00 Sicilian Cart Parade with folk music.
11:30 Educational, artistic and motor workshop for children on the history and culture of the Medlar in Calatabiano, with inflatable recreational games.
12:30 Workshops and demonstrations of agri-food processing, with a focus on the production of medlar-based culinary products.
17:00 Show Cooking in Piazza San Filippo by the Calatabian Master Pastry Chefs for the preparation of the traditional cake with medlar custard, by the Duina Cafe and Bar Sauvage.
18:00 Educational, artistic and motor workshop for children on the history and culture of the Medlar in Calatabiano, with inflatable recreational games, organized by the Alkantara Sport Academy Association and the children of the civil service.
19:00 Cutting of the cake masterfully prepared by the Calatabian master pastry chefs and subsequent tasting.
19:30 Historical fencing demonstration with Sicilian stick and knife demonstration.
20:00 Folk dance show with traditional clothes to celebrate Sicilian culture, music and traditions with the "Vecchia Jonia" group.
